A wireless internet connection can be of huge benefit to the user – allowing you to use the same connection for several PCs or laptops and therefore be able to access the internet as and when you need it.
However, as wireless connections use the airwaves they are more vulnerable to interceptions with other users taking advantage of your connection. This can have a knock-on effect as it can slow down your own download speeds and also make your wireless device more vulnerable to attacks.
If you are considering operating a wireless network for private or public use you should implement a secure login authentication system. Best practice is to keep a manual record of each user so that you can refer to this should any issues arise. Ask users to sign in for internet access with details of their account, password and contact details and signature.
Telemat offer an all in one hotspot gateway. It provides secure free or charged internet access.
The unit is installed with an easy to use statement printer which generates and prints tickets with account id and password.

Keep your wireless router name generic. Instead of using information that makes it clear who owns the router or your location, use something common like 'wireless' or 'router 1'.
